Digital Society Conference
Digital Credentials and Identities - Part 2
Due to the success of DSC2023, we are organizing a follow-up event in 2024, the DSC2. The focus will again be on digital credentials and identities, but we have chosen a new location (ChangeHub Berlin) and a new conference format, i.e. an UnConference
The goals of DSC2 at a glance:
- Build: consistent know-how partnerships
- Connect: Technology providers and users
- Harmonise: existing and future structures and eco-systems
- Uncover: Fields of application, now potential for increased efficiency
- Synchronise: Technology, data, culture
- Creating value: the resource of network effects
- Unconference: contribute your ideas to the workshop sessions or propose a session yourself

The time has come!
Digital credentials are a focal point of European technological development and will revolutionise the exchange of all kinds of data and information in all areas through the use of wallet applications. While very few people, organisations and IT specialists in Germany are even aware of these, they will already be a reality in 2026. The reorganisation of all process components (issuing, saving, exchanging, verifying) will change the way data is exchanged and broaden the areas of application of credentials as a core element of digital connections.
At the Digital Society Conference 2 (#DSC2 – 26 + 27.11.24), we will therefore focus on collaboration in order to bridge the ‘digital divide’ between specialists, user groups, technology providers on the one hand, and the introduction of digital credentials set by the EU for 2026 on the other. The #DSC2 will be organised as a face-to-face event in the form of an unconference. The conference language is German. On day two, the panel will be held in English.
An ‘unconference’ is a participant-orientated meeting. Anyone who would like to initiate a discussion on a topic can request time and space and propose a work session. In this way, the participants shape the agenda of the event themselves. Within the framework of DSC2, a workshop session lasts one hour. A total of 14 workshop sessions can be organised.
In addition to the workshop sessions, a panel will be held on each day of DSC2 in order to initiate content for workshop sessions and to get an overview on the status of discussions in the national and European context.
